Something to Live For

She took you down,
She showed you all around

She shook you till
You saw the light

You were overwhelmed by all that you had learned
When love Is there in the air

She didn’t ask you to be better
You had no need to prove yourself

But because of love you chose to
You wanted to for her

She made you see the greener side of life,
Forced you to enjoy every little excitement

You and her went on a journey
You changed like the scenery

She stayed beautiful,
Consistent like the sunset

Always dependable
Repeatedly new,
Irresistible she became

The world as you knew yours
Became better, less complex
For once, you had an innocent reason for living

You could say that, unlike many others
You had the simple joy of loving another
With all your heart and soul,

And that,
Is something to live for

This is such a beautiful poem Felicity. I love the image your words create. 'consistent like the sunset' and 'simple joy'(of loving another with all your heart and soul) These two lines fit so well together. A wonderful piece indeed!
